كَأَنَّهَا حَبَّةٌ تَنْزِلُ مِنْ نِظَامٍ
"The signs will follow one another like beads falling from a necklace."
Referenced in scholars' commentary on the Major Signs — once they begin, they come rapidly and in sequence.
The Prophet ﷺ described the Major Signs as a chain — once the first breaks loose, the rest follow in rapid succession. This is why the order matters. The Minor Signs, by contrast, are patterns that unfold across centuries. Some have been fulfilled historically. Others are ongoing. None of them are countdown timers. They are orientations — reminders of where we are in time, and why preparation is not paranoia.
Minor Signs Occurred 8 signs

Sahih Al-Bukhari 6015 — Hadith of Jibril

Sahih Al-Bukhari 85
Competition in Building Tall Structures
From the Hadith of Jibril: "barefoot shepherds competing in tall buildings." Scholars frequently mention Gulf skyscraper development. They emphasize interpretation, not certainty.
Sahih Al-Bukhari 50 — Muslim 8 — Hadith of Jibril

Tirmidhi 2332 — Hasan
Knowledge Disappears, Ignorance Spreads
True scholars become fewer, religious knowledge becomes scarce, and ignorance spreads among the people. This refers to knowledge of deen, not worldly knowledge.

Sahih Al-Bukhari 1591
Major Signs The Final Events 9 signs
Mainstream Sunni consensus: none of the Major Signs have begun. When the first appears, the others follow rapidly — like beads from a broken necklace. The sequence below reflects the most widely accepted scholarly ordering. Scholars differ on the exact order of signs 5–9.
1The Mahdi
A righteous leader from the lineage of the Prophet ﷺ emerges. He does not seek leadership but is given it. He fills the earth with justice after it was filled with oppression. He leads the Muslims and is present when Isa ﷺ descends.
Abu Dawud 4282 — Tirmidhi 2232
2The Dajjal
The greatest trial humanity will face. One-eyed — his right eye like a floating grape, left eye extinguished. The word Kafir written between his eyes, visible to every believer. Claims to be Allah. Recitation of the first and last 10 ayat of Surah Al-Kahf is protection.
Sahih Muslim 2946 — Bukhari 7131
3The Descent of Isa ﷺ
Isa ibn Maryam descends to the white minaret east of Damascus, hands resting on the wings of two angels. He kills the Dajjal at the gate of Ludd. He breaks the cross, kills the swine, and abolishes the jizyah. He lives among the Muslims, prays behind the Mahdi.
Sahih Muslim 2937 — Bukhari 3448
4Ya'juj and Ma'juj
Released after Isa ﷺ kills the Dajjal. They pour down from every hill, consume the earth's resources, drink entire bodies of water. Isa ﷺ and the believers take refuge on a mountain. They are destroyed by a plague sent by Allah.
Sahih Muslim 2937 — Al-Anbiya 21:96
5Three Great Landslides
Three massive land collapses — one in the East, one in the West, one in the Arabian Peninsula. Scholars differ on whether these precede or follow the smoke.
Sahih Muslim 2901
6The Smoke
A smoke covers the entire earth for 40 days. For the believer it is like a cold, for the disbeliever it enters through every orifice. The sky will appear as visible smoke.
Ad-Dukhan 44:10–11 — Tirmidhi 3270
7The Beast from the Earth
The Beast emerges from the earth and marks people — stamping the believer's face with light and the disbeliever's face with darkness. It speaks to people and moves with extraordinary speed.
An-Naml 27:82 — Tirmidhi 3187
8The Sun Rises from the West
The sun rises from its place of setting. This is the point at which the door of tawbah closes permanently — repentance is no longer accepted. Faith professed after this sight is of no benefit.
Sahih Al-Bukhari 4635 — Muslim 157
9A Fire from Yemen
A fire emerges from the direction of Yemen (Aden) and drives all of humanity to their final gathering place — the plain of resurrection. It moves with them, resting when they rest.
Sahih Muslim 2901
